Seminar Tai Yi 38 Form

38 Forms Seminary in Bucharest for WuDao Club

During 20 – 22 February 2015, C.S. WuDao organized a seminary for learning a new taolu from WudangPai style: 38 forms Tai Yi. The seminary was sustained by Raphael Hug, the coordinator of WDB school from Berlin and student of Master Ismet Himmet.

In 15 hours of training the participants learned the basics, new positions and moves that compose the taolu 38 forms. Tree grows roots, swallow glides over water, green dragon rises out of the sea, wind blows over lotus leaves, the cosmos is one circle are only a few of the 38 steps that form the studied Tai Yi form. There were 16 participants at the seminary, who were already familiarized with WDP style, through exercising the 18 forms taolu or other principles specific to this school, such as the 5 elements (water, fire, wood, metal, earth) or explosive exercises as fali or fajin, studied in previous seminaries, coordinated by Master Ismet Himmet.

A complex taolu, which requires concentration but also openness for constant rehearsal, 38 forms engages the practitioners through its concatenated movements with connotations deeply enrooted in the Chinese culture and philosophy. More than a challenge, learning the form in only 3 days of training meant a major accomplishment for the participants, both martially and psychically, because the taolu required the memorization of new movements, logically enchained.

Being at his second visit in Romania, Raphael distinguished through his warm and friendly personality and his advanced qualities of professional instructor, with extensive martial arts knowledge, explaining everything smoothly and with genuineness.
